We are seeking applications from energetic persons who are enthusiastic about working with kids, teens, and adults with mild to moderate disabilities. Our mission is to provide healthy, enjoyable, and productive ways for our clients to achieve their goals, in nature when suitable. We are a family-run provider with strong values for faith, integrity, and well-being.

We want to train and develop a small, reliable, and collaborative team that will eventually help us to provide the additional benefits of group activities, camps, and school holiday programs to our clients.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Is aligned with our organization’s values
  • Demonstrates a genuine desire to provide quality care for kids, teens & adults with disabilities
  • Has some after-school availability each week
  • Is caring, detailed, focused on creative solutions, calm under pressure, and person-centered with good communication skills
  • Is enthusiastic about outdoor recreation or connecting with nature
  • Understands the principles of trauma-informed care and a person-centred approach
  • Has one year of community care/support work experience or lived experience caring for a person with a disability,

OR

  • Holds or is enrolled in study for a relevant qualification (i.e. Cert III in Individual Support or Cert IV in Disability)

OR

  • Qualifications or experience such as Outdoor Recreation/Leadership, Fitness & Sports, Mental Health, Counseling, Youth or Social Work are also well-regarded

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage participants in community, social & recreational activities
  • Support participants in various aspects, such as working towards plan goals, daily living tasks, housework, or personal hygiene
  • Facilitate well-being goals, sometimes through nature-based experiences and outdoor adventures
  • Provide creative opportunities for participants to access outdoor recreation & social experiences
  • Support participants to develop independence and learn new skills
  • Provide transportation and assistance with appointments and errands
  • Provide mentoring, role-modeling and advocacy to suitable participants
  • Maintain transparent and timely communication through note-writing

Minimum Requirements:

  • Willingness to complete checks and certifications WWCC, NDIS screening, First Aid, Police Check)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, and a registered and insured vehicle.
  • Eligible to work in Australia
  • Willing to use a personal smartphone or mobile device for work
  • Clear spoken English, good reading and writing skills.
